So grab your camera, your favorite takeout,and your sunset viewing squad to one of these beautiful spots conveniently located right here in Fairfield County!





Fayerweather Island Lighthouse

Located in Black Rock Harbor, this beautiful island lighthouse has a deep rooted history as a shipping center dating back to the eighteenth century. This a great viewing spot for sunsets while taking a nice stroll out on the jetty. For you photographers out there, this is your opportunity to photograph one of the most picturesque lighthouses in New England.

Seaside Park

Seaside Park with its lush lawns, shady areas, and sports fields leading up to the Long Island Sound is a great location for those of all ages. Visitors can enjoy a nice game of catch or hike the scenic trails while waiting to view that great sunset at the coastline at the end of the day. This is a great alternative to your classic beach sunset.



Sasco Hill Beach

Sasco Hill Beach is located just to the south of Southport Harbor and the Country Club of Fairfield on Long Island Sound. This is a secluded drive up beach that has a fantastic view and comfortable picnic benches perfect for dinner and a sunset.



Greenwich Point Park

Greenwich Point Park is a very popular spot for swimming, fishing, boating, water sports, and walks. Open daily and year round for relaxation, this large sandy shore has a gorgeous view of Long Island Sound, especially at sunset.



Gulf Beach

Gulf Beach is picture perfect, with plenty of sandy area for children to play. There is a snack shack for lunch items or ice cream and restroom facilities that allow for the beach day to last up until sunset! Gulf Beach has a beautiful pier that will easily silhouette in the rays of the sun and really make your sunset photograph pop.

Silver Sands State Park

Silver Sands State Park is the perfect place for a walk with seating areas along the boardwalk for sunset enjoyment. During summer days there is room for recreational beach and fishing activities with access to Charles Island during low tide. It is important to note that this state park has many birds that are protected by Federal and CT Endangered Species Acts so it is necessary to be extra careful with your surroundings.

Walnut Beach

Walnut Beach is an exciting place, especially over the course of the summer. You can go there to enjoy your typical beach day and sunset or you can go to attend the many events they hold including a summer concert series under the pavilion, yoga, arts and crafts, triathlons and 5K races. This is truly a place for the community to get together but also a place to capture that picturesque sunset.



Norwalk Cove Marina

Norwalk Cove Marina is Connecticut’s yachting center that is also known for its entertainment. Complete with water viewing restaurants, miniature golf courses, shops, and picnic areas for relaxing, this is the spot for the summer! While enjoying your evening of either dining or strolling you will be able to catch a beautiful and nautical sunset.



Lordship Seawall

Lordship Seawall, along the Long Island Sound is the perfect spot to take a beautiful walk or a nice bike ride. It is a favorite location among the residents to enjoy a cup of coffee and a meal after witnessing the breathtaking sunset the area allows.

Long Beach

Long Beach, in accordance with its name is one of the longest barrier beaches in Connecticut that is nestled between Long Island Sound and the Great Meadows tidal marsh. This beach gives you space to spread out and creates a gorgeous sunset setup due to the boundless stretches of possibly vacant sand.



Burying Hill Beach

Burying Hill Beach offers a very gentle sunset that comes off of the calm current of the shore. This beach is equipped with facilities and also picnic tables and grill areas for the option of a summertime sunset cookout!

Compo Beach

Compo Beach is a lovely family beach during the day with an extensive sand area and a playground set to keep the kids entertained. At night this beach transforms into a spot of relaxation and budding romance with the backdrop of a sunset beautifully reflecting off South Beach.

Sherwood Island State Park is Connecticut’s first and finest state parks. Visitors will find fun in swimming, observing the land, or enjoying a nice meal in the shady picnic area, coming back in the evening hours to view an unbelievable sunset.
